Grégoire METZ, appointed new general manager of  DECISION S.A.

On the eve of the new challenge, Grégoire Metz, 45, a naval engineer takes the helm of Décision S.A.

After more than 30 years of developing innovative projects in his Ecublens' workshops, Bertrand Cardis has asked to step down from the business's operational management in order to devote part of his time to new projects for Groupe Carboman.

"I asked to step down from the management of Décision in order that I might spend more time on special projects, in particular in the field of aeronautics. We worked for more than ten years in the construction of two solar planes -SOLAR IMPULSE and SOLAR IMPULSE 2- and we have developed a unique knowledge in this field. For us, it's now wise to make the most of this expertise", said Bertrand Cardis.

The former manager will remain in Groupe Carboman as both a shareholder and an administrator.

Grégoire Metz, an international profile

Replacing Bertrand Cardis, the Board of Directors have appointed Grégoire metz. Trained as a naval engineer, he has developed an expertise in the management of offshore racing projects and in boat building, and has done so alongside of the most renowned French skippers (Vincent Riou, Jean-Luc Nélias, and Jean Le Cam). He has also co-managed the Volvo 65 one-design building programme.

Dominique Dubois, CEO of Groupe Carboman explains :" Grégoire Metz has held senior management level positions in several companies. He's able to get an overall view on nautical and industrial projects and his international  profile was clearly attractive for us."

Grégoire Metz commented :"When Bertrand Cardis and Dominique Dubois offered me the opportunity of working for the group and managing Décision S.A., I did not need a long time to consider my answer. For me, it's going to be very rewarding to be able to share my expertise and my energy as we all work towards the development of Groupe Carboman under Dominique Dubois's leadership." 

The new DG's challenges 

Grégoire Metz's skills and enthusiasm will help to address the different challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, both for Décision S.A. and for Groupe Carboman. The latter's plan is to become a European leader in the field of composite material, for the nautical industry but also the aeronautical, renewable energies, civil engineering. These many sectors are ones for which the expertise of Groupe Carboman's engineers and technicians can be invaluable to prestigious major contractors.
